Smoke Has Passed, Frost Could Be On Way

Temperatures could dip into the 30s tonight and Thursday night.

The good news: Most of the smoky smell that blanketed the area Tuesday has passed. 

The bad news: An earlier-than-normal cold front will move through the area over the next couple days, possibly bringing with it patchy frost. 

The National Weather Service reports the smoke particulate that affected much of area Tuesday and came from a wildfire .

Residents from Wisconsin and throughout the Chicago area . with respiratory problems to take caution as smoke persisted. 

The NWS Chicago received no reports of smoke Wednesday morning but added residents may occasionally "smell hints this morning as winds have become northwest ahead of a cold front."
