Few Issues in LITH Following Friday Storm

While ComEd is reporting power outages in the Crystal Lake region, the lights remain on in Lake in the Hills with no outages reported.

There are some local road closures to report following this morning's storm.

  • Village of Lake in the Hills employees blocked off Lee Avenue between Decatur Avenue and Crystal Lake Road around 10 a.m. Friday. Police Department Sgt. Terry Vollmer said there was a a downed cable wire and Comcast had been called to fix it.
  • The Crystal Lake Police Department had asked people to avoid southbound route 31 from Edgewood Road to Route 176 due to a "weather-related obstruction" early in the day. The obstruction has since been cleared. A detour had been set up as crews cleaned up the area.

Vollmer said there was no other issues with standing water, flooding or road closures in Lake in the Hills Friday morning.

ComEd is reporting 3,001 to 10,000 customers without power in the Crystal Lake region this morning. Vollmer said no power outages had been reported in Lake in the Hills from Friday's storm.
