Rakow Road Project Update; Pyott Road Resurfacing Project Underway in LITH

Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution.

The McHenry County Department of Transportation is in the process of resurfacing Pyott Road from Oak Street to the Lake in the Hills Airport.

The work began last week and the placement of binder was complete as of June 8, according to a village of Lake in the Hills construction project update. 

The HMA surface will start being placed on Wednesday, June 13.  The patching at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Pyott Road was scheduled to take place on Tuesday June 12th, according to the village of Lake in the Hills.

Meanwhile, the Rakow Road project is halfway done, according to the Northwest Herald. 

The Northwest Herald reports that construction work along Rakow Road will be moving traffic to new lanes of McHenry Avenue on Wednesday, to new lanes at Ackman Road on Thursday and new lanes at Pyott Road on Friday or next week. Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution.

A bike bridge over Rakow Road is expected to open in the next week or so, according to the Northwest Herald. The bridge will allow bikers to continue on the the McHenry County's Conservation District trail without having to cross the busy road.
