Plaza Bids Farewell; Mulcahy Takes Reigns as LITH Village President

The village of Lake in the Hills has new leadership.

Last week, Ed Plaza, who served as the Lake in the Hills village president for the past 12 years, bid farewell as Paul Mulcahy took the reigns as the village's new leader.

Plaza did not run for re-election this past April. Mulchay, a village board trustee, won the village president seat over Bill Dustin.

In a five-minute speech, Plaza thanked staff members and trustees, spoke of the accomplishments the village saw during his tenure and spoke kindly of Mulcahy, who he said was "dedicated to the village of Lake in the Hills," according to the Northwest Herald.

Plaza also said the village board needs to stand its ground in opposition to a proposed continuous flow intersection at Algonquin and Randall roads and said he "will be back" if the county moves forward with its plans for a CFI, according to the article.
