Police say that a man in a Spider-Man mask wielding a foot-long machete held up an Illinois gas station Sunday evening. Investigators in Moline, Ill., are searching for the man and his partner, who witnesses saw flee the Shell Express Lane location heading westbound in a light-colored pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-series.

“It’s theological or philosophical, but when it comes down to actual science, the idea is dead in the water," said Matt Lowry in regards to creationism, the idea that humanity, life, the Earth, and the universe are the creation of a supernatural being.

Lowry is a physics and astronomy teacher at Lake Forest High School  and at the College of Lake County. He is also the founder of Darwin’s Bulldogs, a grassroots science advocacy group in northern Illinois.
