NWS: Heat Index Could Reach 107 in LITH

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of the Chicago area for Friday.

The heat is coming.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from noon Friday to midnight Friday for much of the Chicagoland area, including McHenry County.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high near 97 degrees in Lake in the Hills with heat values reaching as high as 107 degrees.

“The combination of heat and humidity will create oppressive conditions, which may cause heat-related illnesses to develop with prolonged exposure,” according to the NWS.
