McHenry County to Host Public Hearing for Randall Road Improvement Plan

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 4-7 pm at the H.D. Jacobs High School.

The McHenry County Division of Transportation (MCDOT) cordially invites all persons interested in the project to attend a public hearing concerning the proposed improvement plan for Randall Road from County Line Road to Ackman Road in McHenry County. The purpose of this public hearing is to present the purpose and need for the project and the preferred alternative which includes three through lanes in each direction and improvements at every intersection within the corridor.

The public will have the opportunity to provide comments on the potential impacts to Ken Carpenter Park. The Ken Carpenter Park, which is owned by the Village of Lake in the Hills, is a public park located at the southwest corner of Randall and Miller Road. The impact to the park is determined to not adversely affect the features, attributes, or activities that qualify the Ken Carpenter Park for protection under Section 4(f) of the Federal Highway Administration, Department of Transportation, Code of Federal Regulations (23 CFR 771.135). The Federal Highway Administration will consider comments received during this public hearing before making any final Section 4(f) impact determinations. Details describing the impacts of the Randall Road improvements on the Ken Carpenter Park will be available at the public hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the H.D. Jacobs High School, Cafeteria located at 2601 Bunker Hill Drive in Algonquin. The hearing will be conducted in an open house format with the presence of court reporters to record your public comment.  Exhibits showing the preferred alternative will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be continuously shown.  Representatives from MCDOT and the consultant team will be present to discuss the project. Written comments regarding the project may be completed at the public hearing, submitted online through the project website at www.randallroad.info, or mailed to MCDOT at 16111 Nelson Road, Woodstock, Illinois 60098, no later than February 23, 2012 to be included in the public hearing record. The hearing location is accessible to persons with a disability. Persons with a disability planning to attend this hearing should notify Wally Dittrich (ph: 815-334-4980 or email: wrdittrich@co.mchenry.il.us) by Tuesday, January 17, 2012 (one week prior to the hearing date).
