LITH Beaches Open Today

Beaches reopen, but still under heavy rain advisory.

“The waters finally came down to acceptable levels. Hopefully we don’t get too much more rain over the next couple of days,” said Andrew Gemmell, superintendent of recreation for Lake in the Hills parks and recreation.

Gemmell said beach closings this year are running more than average.

“The last two years were good, but it all depends on the rain. It’s nature; you can’t do too much about it,” he said.
