Lots to Offer at Opening Day of Street Market

There was jewelery, purses, furniture, sunglasses and food at the first day of the Lake in the Hills street market.

A half-hour after the Lake in the Hills Street Market opened to the public noon Saturday, half the parking lot was filled and area residents wandered through tents checking out what vendors had to offer.

There was plenty of furniture, jewelery, spices, plants, purses, sunglasses and much more to peruse during the first day of the Lake in the Hills Street Market, located at at 8601 S. Route 31.

Police directed traffic on Highway 31 at the parking lot entrance. The street market is open until 5 p.m. Saturday and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free and the street market will be open the second and fourth weekends of each month.
