Jury: Blagojevich Guilty on 17 Counts

Area media news outlets are reporting a jury came to a unanimous decision on 17 of the 20 counts against the former governor.

A federal jury returned a guilty verdict this afternoon in the corruption trial of Rod Blagojevich, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Tribune reports the jury reached a verdict on 17 of the 20 counts brought against the former governor today — the 10th day of deliberations. The jury was deadlock on two charges and acquitted Blagojevich on one charge.

One of the allegations among those counts is that Blagojevich "tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat," according to the Chicago Tribune.
