Things like clock displays, computers, TVs and electric toothbrushes waste energy by simply being plugged into the outlet. The best way to avoid this energy drainage is to unplug anything you are not immediately using.

Hold Yourself Accountable. Earth Day organizers are calling for 'a billion acts of green, for people to do small, but sustainable things for the earth. Pledge your own small contribution to improve the planet’s health.

Pick it up! It can be as simple as picking up litter in the street or at the park while you are taking your dog out for an evening walk.

Turn Off the Water! Algonquin implements a water conservation program year round. And shortly it is going to turn from "Green" to "Yellow," which means you can water your grass on limited days. Follow the water status and you are already doing your part.
