Frost Advisory in Effect for Area

The National Weather Service is reminding people to bring any sensitive vegetation indoors overnight as a precaution.

It's time to pull those winter sweaters back out and certain plants back indoors.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for McHenry County and much of the Chicago area from 4 to 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

According to the advisory, temperatures will drop into the lower to mid-30s during the early morning hours. Areas of frost are expected.

The advisory goes on to state that "frost can kill or damage sensitive vegetation" and that "the appropriate actions should be taken to prevent this."

The cold will not last all day Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 59 degrees in Lake in the Hills by mid-afternoon.
