On Friday, Dec. 16 Elgin Community College held its 2011 fall commencement ceremony.
The ceremony opened with a welcome to graduates, their families and friends from ECC President David Sam, PhD, JD. Robert McBride, EdD, chair of the Community College District 509 Board of Trustees, delivered the message from the board. María de los Ángeles Borrero Véaz of Elgin, a member of the 2011 graduating class, was the commencement speaker.
