Centegra Wellness Lectures: Managing Stress

Free lectures in January cover stress management and weight training.

 

Anxiety and stress have the possibility of taking over one’s life. Join Dr. Zach Sikora, psychologist on staff at Centegra Physician Care, and learn how self-talk directly impacts one’s emotional well being.

It is one of the free lectures Centegra Health System is hosting in this month.

Sikora will talk about ways to identify and practically change problematic thinking patterns and beliefs that perpetuate stress and anxiety.

“Improving Your Self-Talk: Reducing Stress and Anxiety” will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road.

The lecture series includes “Weighing the Options for Weight Lifting” will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road.

Weight lifting has become more prevalent in today’s society for youth in the community. For those in active sports, weight lifting has even become somewhat of a necessity, but how much is too much? Join Dr. William Cox, orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist on staff at Centegra Health System, as he explains how adolescents and teenagers can safely maximize their results from weight training.
