Happy Memorial Day!

We know there are plenty of Lake in the Hills veterans out there today, as well as those currently serving our country — and our thanks to all of you.

One was of a 87-year-old World War II veteran who spent time as a machine gunner. The other is of a Vietnam veteran who is now teaching his granddaughter the importance of patriotism. Both offer touching reminders of the sacrifices made by our veterans.

Today, the American Legion Post 1231 in Lake in the Hills will be hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony. That ceremony kicks off at 10 a.m.
