Anticipate Road Closures Founders' Days Weekend

There will be numerous detours and delays while traveling through Algonquin during July 28-31.

As a result of the Founders’ Days Activities, there will be numerous detours and delays while traveling through Algonquin during July 28-31. The Algonquin Police Department wants to bring to your attention time periods where the major streets of Algonquin will either be closed or impassable.

On Saturday, July 30, Routes 31 and 62 will be closed and traffic will be diverted beginning at 10 a.m. The Parade will begin at 11 a.m. SHARP and will start from Eastgate Drive and Route 62. It will travel west on Route 62 over the Fox River and then travel south on Route 31. The parade will end at Railroad Street, however, Route 31 will be closed south to Edgewood Road. Additionally, South Harrison will be closed from Algonquin Road (Route 62) south to Washington Street during the Parade. The parade is expected to last until 1 p.m.

On Sunday, July 31, Harrison Street will be closed from Route 62 to Edward Street from 5-11 p.m. This street closure allows pedestrians and local traffic to participate in the Fireworks display beginning at dusk. No parking of vehicles will be allowed within this section of North Harrison the day of the fireworks.
