American Legion Post Hosts Memorial Day Ceremony

Local veterans expected to speak and the Jacobs High School band will also play at the ceremony.

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by the American Legion Post 1231 will begin at the cemetery at the intersection of Route 31 and Algonquin Road at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Traffic will be blocked along Route 31 as participants march downhill from the cemetery to the gazebo by where American Legion Post Commander Don McMullen, member Gary Jensen and others will speak.

A wreath will be laid on the veteran's memorial at the cemetery, with a three round volley sounded by the rifle squadron and taps played.
