Algonquin/LITH Fire Protection District Gets Grant Money

The Daily Herald reports FEMA has doled out $372,149 to the fire protection district.

The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District will use $372,149 awarded to the district by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to buy new self-contained breathing apparatus, according to the Daily Herald.

The current air tanks that the district's firefighters use to breath when entering a building that has either smoke or fire are at least 15 years old and the district plans to use the money from FEMA to replace all 55 of its air packs, according to the Daily Herald article.
