Algonquin Attorney Sentenced in Solicitation of Murder Case

Jason Smiekel was ordered Tuesday to spend 8 1/2 years in prison.

Algonquin attorney Jason W. Smiekel, 30, was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in federal prison Tuesday for plotting "to have his fiancee's ex killed," according to the Northwest Herald. 

Smiekel pleaded guilty to a solicitation of murder using interstate commerce charge for trying to have Brian Hegg killed.
