On Friday, February 14, McHenry County College recognized Prairie Community Bank in Marengo and their employees who are alumni of MCC. The recognition marks the kickoff of a newly-created “Stand Up and Be Counted” alumni corporate recognition program launched by the Friends of MCC Foundation.  The new alumni program aims to celebrate employers throughout McHenry County who have MCC alumni as employees or business owners.

“McHenry County College is so pleased to be able to recognize the accomplishments of our alumni, and to honor those local businesses that employ our successful graduates,” said MCC president Vicky Smith, Ed.D.

Dane Walkington, development coordinator for the Friends of MCC Foundation and liaison for MCC alumni outreach stated, “Having more than 10 Prairie Community Bank employees who are alumni of MCC only reinforces the value that the College brings to the community.  These alumni are able to get a quality education from MCC and after graduation; many of them stay and work in our community.”

MCC will continue the “Stand Up and Be Counted” program by recognizing Miller Verchota, Inc. in Crystal Lake on Wednesday, February 19.
