Sometimes, or most of the time, what you want most from a restaurant you frequent is consistency. Nero's is consistently mediocre, and even that's ok, sometimes.
I have generally had good experiences at this neighborhood watering hole, but I was unhappy last nite with a few things.
Our waitress was completely indifferent, and despite only having one other table, goofed up our order.
The restaurant was out of coffee. Who runs out of coffee? And with four markets within 3 blocks, can't the delivery boy (or anyone) stop and buy a can?
Video poker machines were all shut off, not sure what's up with that.
But it especially bothered me there were little kids sitting at the bar. Who takes their kids to a bar? What bar lets little kids sit at the bar?
I have often ordered pizza, and it used to be # 2 on my list of local favorites, but has been bumped down, with Sal's in the #1 slot, and East Side Joey's at #2.
It'll be awhile before I go back.
