Martin Luther King Jr. Day: What's Opened, Closed

Find out what is open and closed in your town.

McHenry County facilities will be closed on Monday in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including the courthouse at 220 North Seminary Ave. in Woodstock and county administration building at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock. 

Algonquin Village Hall, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, and Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills, will both be open on Martin Luther King Day. Recycling and trash pick-up will continue as scheduled. 

All United State Post Offices will be closed on Monday. There is no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services on postal holidays.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is considered a bank holiday and most banks will be closed on Monday, including Chase Bank and U.S. Bank. Check with your bank to see if it is opened or closed. 

Most other area businesses, restaurants and stores will be open for normal business hours on Monday.
