Renovations Underway on Gurnee Mills Food Court

The following information comes from a Bitner Goodman press release regarding renovations at 

Gurnee Mills has begun work on the transformation of its Lake County Food Court. 

This much anticipated project, which will act as a finishing touch to Gurnee Mills’ full-price retail wing anchored by Macy’s, will include updated amenities and modern restaurant fronts.  

Once completed, Gurnee Mills shoppers will enjoy a more contemporary food court with comfortable furnishings, improved lighting, renovated restaurant fronts and timeless architectural elements.

The renovation is expected to be completed during this summer and all eateries, including Red Mango, Sbarro, McDonald’s and Taco Bell, will remain open throughout the construction process to minimize customer inconvenience.

“As part of our unique brand of shopping, Gurnee Mills offers the best selection of stores paired with a variety of dining and entertainment venues,” said Randy Ebertowski, general manager at Gurnee Mills. “The renovation of our Lake County Food Court will complement all of the exciting changes at Gurnee Mills, from a new retail wing and updated store mix to modern restrooms and parking enhancements.”

The food court transformation will complement Gurnee Mills’ new wing, which is anchored by Macy’s and is already home to a mix of retail options, including Aéropostale, a first-in-market P.S. from Aéropostale, Bachrach, Buckle, Charming Charlie, Crazy 8, Forever 21, LEGO Brand Retail Store, LOFT, PINK, RUUM American Kid’s Wear and Z Fine Jewelry.

For the past two years, Gurnee Mills has been undergoing a significant renovation program.  

Shoppers now utilize updated restrooms, parking and road enhancements, updated exterior and interior signage and a Chicago-inspired children’s play area sponsored by Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament.
