A local driver's education school has closed its three McHenry County locations without, it appears, giving its students any advance notice.

The Northwest Suburban Driving School closed its downtown Crystal Lake school at 101 N Main St., as well as schools in Algonquin, 1411 Commerce Dr., Algonquin, and McHenry, 1249 Green St.

The message on the school's webpage reads, "Northwest Suburban Driving School is closed. All classes and driving lessons are cancelled. Operations have ceased and the driving school is no longer in business."

Several comments posted on the Northwest Suburban Driving School Facebook page reveal parents received no notice of the pending closure.

Some parents state they paid for the service, their children completed the instructional course, but have not receive the certificate of completion needed to obtain their drivers license from the state.

"My kid paid for and attended your classes. The state claims that they never received the certification of completion from your school. How can i get someone to send the state the proper paperwork? Did you just rip me off?"

Another left the comment:

"We would all appreciate a little communication! How do you plan to inform your current students of the situation? How will our students get their records showing they completed the classroom portion last month? This has been handled very unprofessionally."
