Lake in the Hills Restaurant Plans Move to Algonquin Commons

La Trattoria — an Italian restaurant formerly located in Lake in the Hills — has hopes of moving to Algonquin Commons real soon. 

The restaurant closed the doors to its Lake in the Hills location and plans to reopen in the Algonquin Commons at 1748 S. Randall Road, said La Trattoria co-owner Theresa Scandurra.

The restaurant had been located at 9541 Ackman Road — in a strip mall at Lakewood and Ackman roads in Lake in the Hills. 

The village of Algonquin liquor commission will consider granting the restaurant a liquor license during a special hearing tonight at , 2200 Harnish Drive.

If all goes as planned, the owners hope to open the restaurant’s doors at the Commons in late spring or early summer, but an exact date has not been determined. 

Another restaurant slated to open soon at the Commons is Jiang's Mongolian Grill. The make-your-own stir-fry restaurant would allow visitors to pick their own meat, sauce and vegetables and have their meal made in front of them. 

The owner, Shan Hao Zhao, decided to open the restaurant in the Algonquin Commons after noticing Algonquin did not have any . Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Patch has more information on Zhao's plans for .
