Jimmy D's Neighborhood Inn Closes

Police say the bar was in violation of its liquor license.

Jimmy D's Neighborhood Inn, a bar on Algonquin's far west side, is no longer. The bar, located at 3965-67 W. Algonquin Road, closed its doors sometime last month after police had filed a complaint against the establishment for being in violation of the village's liquor license ordinance.

Chief Russell Laine said that in Algonquin no person who has been convicted of a felony may have ownership in an establishment that maintains a liquor license. The license was issued to Jimmy D's Neighborhood Inn, Inc. It does not list individual owners.

Before the liquor commission could revoke the liquor license for Jimmy D's at its Sept. 6 hearing, the bar voluntarily relinquished its liquor license on Aug. 25.
