Construction Underway on Algonquin Gander Mountain

Construction is underway on a new Gander Mountain that is slated to open this fall in Algonquin. 

The 52,000-square-foot start will be located at 1400 S. Randall Road, adjacent to the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Randall, and will be the seventh Gander Mountain location in Illinois. 

As for stores in the suburbs, Gander Mountain, a national retail chain that sells hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor recreational gear, currently has locations in Geneva and Joliet. 

“We’re excited to welcome Gander Mountain to Algonquin,” said Village President John Schmitt in a Gander Mountain news release. “Their decision to locate in our community reaffirms that Algonquin is a desirable place to do business.”

Gander Mountain’s newest store will feature one of the largest selections of new and used firearms in Illinois, together with the best selection of gear and accessories for hunting, fishing, camping, boating and archery, according to a Gander Mountain news release. 

The store will offer an extensive selection of men’s and women’s active performance outdoor and casual apparel featuring exciting brands like The North Face, Columbia and Under Armour and a wide variety of men’s and women’s active footwear featuring brands like Asics, Merrell, Rocky, Patagonia, Saucony and many more.
