Five Area Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving

Skip the fuss of serving a Thanksgiving meal and check out one of these area restaurants. Let us know in the comments section below if there is a restaurant we missed that will be open this Thanksgiving.

It takes four to five days to safely thaw a 16 to 20-pound Thanksgiving turkey in the refrigerator — eight to 10 hours if you choose to thaw in cold water.

And between 4 hours and 15 minutes and 4 hours and 45 minutes is suggested for cooking an 18 to 20-pound bird, according to the United States Department of Agriculture's "Let's Talk Turkey" consumer guide to safely cooking a Thanksgiving turkey. For those cooking at home, this handy calculator can help you decide how much turkey you should plan on making.

And for those who preferring to skip the hassle of Thanksgiving meal preparations and have someone else do the work, here are five area restaurants that will be open this Thanksgiving:

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What’s available: A champagne brunch buffet will be offered all day and will include: eggs, omlettes, waffles, potatoes and sausages, as well as Thanksgiving favorites such as, turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce. There will also be soup, salad and a dessert table. The regular menu will not be available

Reservations: Reservations are recommended

Cost: $32.95 per adult

Hours: 12 to 7 p.m.

What’s available: Jameson’s will offer its normal menu as well as ham and turkey

Reservations: Reservations are required

What’s Available: Regular menu, as well as chicken Virginia ham and prime rib special

Reservations: Recommended for larger groups

Hours: Noon to 4 p.m.

What’s available: A buffet that will include appetizers, turkey, ham, fish, beef, pot roast, potato salad, baked potatoes, appetizers and desserts. The regular menu will not be available

Reservation: Recommended to avoid long waits

Cost: $15 per person

Hours: Open 24 hours a day, including on Thanksgiving

What's Available: The regular menu, including burgers, sandwiches, melts and shakes will be available
