Calling All Car Enthusiasts — Season's Final Cruise Night
On Tuesday, Aug. 9, visitors are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item for the local food pantry, and as a "thank you" will receive a coupon for a free ice cold treat from Sonic Drive-In.
The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce is “gearing” up for its final Cruise Night for the summer from 5:30-8:30 Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Oakridge Shopping Center in Algonquin in the parking area across from Sonic Drive-In, 1090 S. Randall Road, Algonquin.
The chamber’s Cruise Night has been a family-fun event for all ages.
Visitors continue to enjoy visiting with the car enthusiasts, visiting with local businesses with some sampling of their products, all while enjoying great music and activities. Also participating is the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District with its Touch-a-Truck program.
To help the local food pantry, visitors and car enthusiasts are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item. As a “thank you,” donors will receive a coupon for a free ice-cold treat from Sonic Drive-In. During the previous two Cruise Nights, the chamber has collected more than 100 pounds of food.
