Popular bagel shop in Algonquin closes without notice.
Bentley's Bagels and Brew in Algonquin has closed.
The bagel shop at 124 Randall Road is now empty inside with only one chair remaining. There's no note or explanation on the door explaining the departure. The shop's website is no longer active, and no information is posted on the Bentley's Bagels & Brew Facebook page.
Neighboring business owners said they had no idea why the shop closed.
"They seemed to slip out in the middle of the night," one businessman said.
The shop, located in front of Caputo's grocery store, was a popular stop for breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and, of course, bagels.
