According to the National Weather Service, the forecast high for today, July 16, is 96 degrees, with a heat index of around 100 degrees. The forecast high for Tuesday is 98 degrees, with a heat index of 100 to 106 degrees.

AIRNow says today's air quality is expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

"Active children and adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors," according to AIRNow.
