Downtown Algonquin Fall Harvest Fest

The Downtown Algonquin Partnership merchant association is holding its annual Old Time Country Harvest Fest from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, October 8 (Rain Date: October 15).  The event will take place in a municipal parking lot one block east of Route 31, on South Harrison Street.  Harvest Day festvities will feature free games for kids, a pumpkin decorating contest, farmers market, craft fair, and sidewalk costume parade for kids starting at Noon.  Non-perishable food donations are encouraged to "Share the Harvest" and will be collected on behalf of the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry.

Additionally, the Algonquin Historic Commission will be holding its annual Cemetery Walk on Saturday, October 8 from 11am-2pm and will feature five former residents who will bring to life Algonquin's early and colorful history through stories of their lives.  Advance tickets are not required however a suggested donation of $1 per person is being accepted at the event for the Algonquin Historic Commission to assist with preservation of Algonquin's diverse and rich history.  Parking is available near the Algonquin Cemetery, by the water tower or along Cary Algonquin Road.
