Your Guide to the 2011 Sunset Festival

This year's festival took place Friday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 4.

The 2011 Summer Sunset Festival in Lake in the Hills is scheduled for Friday, Sept, 2 through Sunday, Sept. 4.

With carnival rides, entertainment scheduled for each night, a parade Saturday morning, plenty of events and competitions scheduled throughout the days and an awesome fireworks display to round off the weekend, we want to make sure you are covered on where to go and when. 

2011 SUNSET FESTIVAL 

Cost: It's free and so is parking! Things you will have to pay for: carnival rides, games, food and beverages.

Cost for ride wristbands: Unlimited ride wristbands for one day cost $20. Regular tickets are $1 each or $40 for a sheet of 44 tickets. 

: The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. The parade route (here is a link to the route) will start at Grafton Farm Drive and Miller Road in Lake in the Hills and continue a mile along Miller to Albrecht Road. Lake in the Hills Patch will be marching in the parade this year — hope to meet a lot of our readers!

Main stage entertainment: There will be music ... and lots of it! For more on who performs and when, visit here.

Sunset Festival 5K: The race will start at 7 p.m. Friday at . There is still time to sign up! The cost is $30. Race day registration will be available.
