What's Open, What's Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Algonquin, Lake in the Hills

Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Here is a list of what's open and what's closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014,  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.

Closed

McHenry County facilities will be closed on Monday in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including the courthouse at 220 North Seminary Ave. in Woodstock and county administration building at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock. 

Algonquin Village Hall, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, will be closed.

United State Post Offices will be closed on Monday. There is no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services on postal holidays. 

Banks. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is considered a bank holiday and most banks will be closed on Monday, including Chase Bank and U.S. Bank. Check with your bank to see if it is opened or closed.

Schools. No classes for Community Unit School District 300, Consolidated School District 158, Community School District 47 and Community High School District 155.

Open

Algonquin Area Public Library, 2600 Harnish Dr., Algonquin, and 115 Eastgate Dr., will be open.

Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills, will be open. Regular garbage pickup schedule.


Most other area businesses, restaurants and stores will be open for normal business hours on Monday.
