Weather for Algonquin, LITH: Brace for Dangerous Extreme Cold

McHenry County residents prepare for deep freeze.

It's going to be a dangerously cold week for the Chicago suburbs. 

A high of only -10 to -14 degrees is expected Monday in Algonquin with wind chill values as low as -40 to -50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts around 15 to 25 mph are in the forecast with gusts as high as 30 mph possible.  

A low of -11 and -15 degrees is in the forecast Monday night with wind chill values expected to be between -30 to -40 degrees. 

On Tuesday, a high of 1 to 3 degrees is expected. The lowest wind chill values could be between -30 to -40 in the morning. 

On Wednesday, the temps will reach a high of 11 to 15 and there is a possibility of snow, according to the NWS.
