Village Hosts Amazing Animals by Samantha
There's no excuse to stay inside with the exciting outdoor activities taking place this weekend, including an animal show, a live concert, a community bike ride and a run and pool party.

Why go: Samantha and her Amazing Animals will offer on an all-ages performance outside Village Hall. The group has been featured on national TV programs including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Animal Planet and more. Attendants are welcome to bring food, blankets and more to enjoy the show, and in case of inclement weather the show will be held inside Village Hall.

Why go: Looking for a family member of the furry persuasion? Or want tips and trick on how to train your beloved pet? Come to the Dog Day Event, sponsored by First American Bank of West Dundee. Events include an agility demonstration, pet adoptions, refreshments, a raffle and experts who can answer your questions on first aid, grooming, training and more.

Why go: Both branches of the Algonquin Library host a band of medieval knights, who will captivate young lords and ladies with demonstrations, including a sword fight and replica medieval weapons from the Middle Ages.

Why go: The Huntley Youth Sports Organization hosts a “Run Thru The Sun” race, with events including a 10K run, a 5K walk/run and a kids 1-mile fun run. Participants can also enjoy post-race food and drinks and party at the Huntley Park District Stingray Bay Aquatic Center.

Why go: Learn to fish at the “Hooked on Fishing” clinic sponsored by the McHenry County Conservation District. Both kids and adults can learn tricks from expert anglers, with the MCCD supplying the gear. No fishing license is required; children younger than age 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Why go: All are welcome to attend a group bike ride intended to bring together the biking community in Crystal Lake. The ride goes from Crystal Lake Central High School to Three Oaks Recreation Area. Sponsored by The city of Crystal Lake and the Crystal Lake Clean Air Counts Committee.
