The Weekend Planner: A Royal Wedding Tour of Britain

The weather is looking pretty grim for the weekend, so here are ways to keep yourself dry indoors.

Why go: Love movies? Come to the Film Lovers Group's screening of Born Yesterday. After the film there will be a lively discussion on the movie.

Why go: Obsessed with William and Kate’s Wedding, or just want to brush up on your European history? Enjoy this virtual tour of royal wedding sites, followed by tea and scones.

Why go: Buy books, CDs and movies, or bid on the Library’s used card catalogs, with all proceeds supporting the Friends of the Library. Plus, if you can wait, all sales items are ½ price on Sunday.   

Pricing: $10 for Thursday night, free admission for all other days.

Why go: Come to hear local authors read their work, socialize with other writers and fans and to enjoy free refreshments.

Why go: Learn how to appraise the value of the items sitting in your attic or basement. The library hosts Accredited Antiques Appraiser Patricia Atwood for this informative lecture.
