Temps Near 80 Degrees Today

Summer-like temperatures are predicted for the area through the rest of this week.

It could feel more like summer than late winter today and through the rest of the week.

Forecasters predict temperatures are expected to reach a high of 77 degrees Wednesday.

The warm weather will continue through the rest of the workweek and into the weekend with temperatures expected to hover in the low 70s for this area, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.

Here is the forecast for Wednesday through Monday, according to the NWS: 

  • Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 77. It will be breezy with winds between 10 and 20 mph and wind gusts as high as 30 mph. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night and a low about 58 degrees.
  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 73. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. A low of 55 is expected Thursday night. 
  • Friday: Partly sunny with a high near 73. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. There is also a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday night, with a low of 54.
  • St. Patrick's Day/Saturday: Partly sunny with a high near 74. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy Saturday night with a low of about 55.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Mostly cloudy at night with a low around 56. 
  • Monday: Partly sunny skies and a high near 74.
