Soldier Receives Special Welcome Home

Fire trucks, ambulances, police cars and a motorcade escorted Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class William Berens home Friday from Elgin to Huntley.

Lake in the Hills and Algonquin police officers, firefighters and Warriors' Watch Riders welcomed home Army National Guard Srgt. 1st Class William Berens Friday by escorting him from Elgin to his new home in Huntley.

Berens was one of 165 soliders from Illinois in the 1244th Transportation Company deployed last year. This was Berens second deployment to the Middle East. He was recently stationed at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. Berens is also a police officer at the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
