Penny Pancake Day to Raise Money for Food Pantry

Penny Pancake Day will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Cafe, 2555 Bunker Hill Road in Algonquin, according to Kathy McCoy of the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills food pantry's fund-raising committee.

Guests who dine-in and purchase a beverage will be able to purchase pancakes for a penny apiece, McCoy said. Donations will be accepted for the food pantry's capital campaign fund to pay for renovations at the new location.

"We will have volunteers located out front accepting donations for the new building," McCoy wrote in an e-mail.
