'Parable' is Winning Word at McHenry County Spelling Bee

Lucas Urbanski of Crystal Lake won the spelling competition.

Lucas Urbanski, a 13-year-old from Crystal Lake, won the McHenry County Spelling Bee Wednesday night —beating out his twin sister, Clare, who was also one of the top three spellers at the bee, according to the Northwest Herald. 

Urbanski, who is a seventh-grade student at Immanuel Lutheran in Crystal Lake, spelled "parable" for the win and is now headed to the 2013 Scripps National Bee in Washington, D.C., according to the article.
