HHS Football Team Scores Big for Grafton Food Pantry

Team makes “The Holiday Promise” and donates 200 gifts for food pantry’s clients.

Members of the Huntley High School's football team are winners in every aspect of the word to Grafton Food Pantry.

The team had a game plan to make the holidays bright for neighborhood children facing a holiday with very little to cheer about. Each member of the football program and their families participated. This effort resulted in delivery of over 200 gifts for boys and girls from age 0-18 whose parents are clients of Grafton Food Pantry.

“'The Promise' is one of the team’s mottos which states that the team will not only give their all to each other, but also promise to give back to their community,” Kathy Schneiter, President of Grafton Food Pantry said.

Not only did the team members _ under the leadership of Head Coach John Hart, Coach Matt Zimolzak and several dedicated parents_ select the gifts, they gift wrapped them and labeled them with the appropriate age that corresponded to the type of gift.

”The entire community should be proud of these young men and their generous effort and compassionate for those in need,” Schneiter said.
