Light of Christ Worship

Light of Christ:  Rev Kendall Koenig along with the Rev. Sharon Rogers will be beginning a new sermon series this week called “David:  Bold Faith, Imperfect Life” with the sermon title this week,” Who God Chooses” based on the Bible passage from I Samuel 16:1-13.   Blended worship service times at 100 Hanson Road in Algonquin are as follows:  Saturdays at 5:00 p.m.; Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.  There is also a contemporary worship service at Westfield School, 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road in Algonquin at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday. This weekend at all services will be a special time for the 6th graders entering the Path Program to receive their Path Bags and Bibles.  Registration for Faithland Sunday School kids is underway on Sunday mornings.  The men will be kicking off their monthly breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. in the church Annex this Saturday and Sunday will be the their steak cookout with a  Baggo Tournament starting at 4:00 p.m. on the church new property at the corner of Sleepy Hollow and Longmeadow in Algonquin.  Cost for the outing is $15.00 per person which includes steak, all sides, dessert and drink; please sign up online.  Also, on September 9th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the church Annex the GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) which is for 4th and 5th grade girls will be gathering for their monthly get together.  This first gathering will be will be an ice cream social with the girls and their mothers or another special person in their lives to get acquainted.  Complete details and signup are available online.  Anyone wishing to become a member of Light of Christ should mark their calendars for “Starting the journey” class Thursday, September 13th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.; for additional information contact Bonnie at 847-658-9250 ext 15.  For additional information or to sign up for any programs coming up, call (847) 658-9250 or visit www.locchurch.com
