Algonquin Founders' Days Parade: 'Wild, Wild West' Theme Brings Out the Best

A return to its original route drew an increase in parade participants over last year.

Cowboys, Indians, and covered wagons in the "Wild, Wild West" parade were greeted by cheering spectators and comfortable temperatures on Saturday, July 27, in Algonquin.

The Algonquin Founders' Days Parade returned to its original route this year, stopping short of Huntington Drive due to the Western Bypass construction.

About 120 organizations participated in this year's parade, and the "Wild, Wild West" theme drew a variety of creative floats and costumes.

Judges awarded a multitude of awards for various categories. Visit the Algonquin Founders' Days Facebook page to see the long list of award winners.
