This is the fourth year that the Downtown Algonquin Partnership is hosting the popular farmer’s market, which is open for business rain or shine. Gabriele Reego, owner of in downown Algonquin, co-organizes the event with fellow Doerner employee Kathy Horsely. They said they have seen the number of vendors participating growing steadily each year.

This year Horsely said they expect about 10-12 vendors at the market on any given Thursday. All farmers who participate live within a 300 mile radius of Algonquin, and they will be offering products like plants, produce, and baked goods.

Other vendors will be on hand with eco-friendly products, wellness screenings, and even knife sharpening.

The will also be selling used books and accepting donations of used books.

“With the market, we’re trying to help the community and the local businesses,” she said.

The market also coincides with Algonquin’s summer concert series, which begins June 30. The concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. and will also be located in Riverfront Park.
