The Boy Scouts of America, Three Fires Council, double-dog dare you to summon the courage and drop by for a visit to the 23rd annual Haunted Hike on October 18, 19, 25, and 26. Guest will find twisted scenes and hair-raising screams around every turn of Camp Big Timber, 37W955 Big Timber Road in Elgin. Hikes starts at 7 pm on Fridays and 6:30 pm on Saturdays and goes until 11:00 pm both nights.
This year there are six featured scenes including: the Head Spinning Maze, Vortex of Destruction, Circus of Souls, Light Creek Lodge, Zombies Rising and the Serpentine. “I'm really excited about the 2013 Haunted Hike,” said Rich Dennis, Exploring Director and Staff Adviser to this year’s event. “We encourage the public to join us for a haunting good time.”

The event is open to the public and admission is $10.00. Admission is $10.00 for all with the exception of Scouts in uniform, both boys and girls, for which the fee is $8.00. Food and beverages are available for purchase and parking is free.

For those that prefer sweet treats rather than spooky creeps, a Kiddie Hike sponsored by Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament will be offered from 1:30pm to 4:00pm on October 19 and 26 for $8.00. Under the protection of daylight, the kiddie hike is transformed from fierce to friendly with treat bags, candy, games, a kids ID program, and music for the families and young ones to enjoy.
