Congressman Roskam visits Algonquin Area Library

Digital Services Librarian, Kenny Duray, demonstrates Algonquin Area Public Library's new 3D printer to US Congressman Peter Roskam. The Congressman's January 24 site visit included insights into the library's early literacy initiatives and new homework center.

The 3D printer represents another innovative service of Algonquin Area Public Library. High school tech students will have an opportunity to print a dimensional model of their engineering projects, and local entrepreneurs will have access to "printing" working prototypes of their inventions. The 3D printer is slated to become available for public usage during March 2014. More information about usage, instructional classes, printing costs and other details will be available soon.
