Algonquin Area Library Supports Turning Point with Donation and Supplies Drive

In exchange for wearing jeans October 1 and 2, Algonquin Area Public Library staff donated money to Turning Point, McHenry County’s only domestic violence shelter. Library staff donations exceeded $400.

In addition, both Algonquin Area library locations serve as a donation spot for Turning Point throughout October. The community is invited to donate toiletries, office supplies and clothing for women and children.

Since 1987, October has been designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Algonquin Area Public Library District supports the remarkable efforts of Turning Point and the safe haven they have created for local women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
