The McHenry County “James Bus” will be Visiting the Algonquin Area Public Library

The McHenry County "James Bus" will be Visiting the Algonquin Area Public Library showcasing their 50th anniversary exhibit.

On Saturday, October 13 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, the McHenry County “James Bus” mobile museum will be visiting the Algonquin Area Public Library and will be parked in front of the Harnish Main Library located at 2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin, Illinois 60102.

Originally, the featured exhibit was going to take us back into the history of the 1960s.  However, next year the McHenry County Historical Society will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.  To commemorate this event, the new exhibit is titled “Community Curated Exhibition.”

The new exhibition that the community will be able to view at the Algonquin Area Public Library was curated by twenty-five individuals who make up the History Society’s members, volunteers and Board of Directors, as well of guest curators from the McHenry County Joint Council of Historic Groups.

The curators were all able to select an object from the museum’s collection that holds historical interest or personal meaning to them.  The twenty-five objects selected will be displayed on The James along with their significance and a personal statement from the curator.  These items will remain on display in The James through September 2013.

Be one of the first to see this 50th anniversary exhibition at the Algonquin Area Public Library, and enjoy the history of the area.
