Power to the Library! Keeping residents cool and connected!

Algonquin Library hot spot is the coolest spot in town.

Monday, the Algonquin Public Library was the most popular place in town due to the massive power outages in our surrounding communities. People flocked to the library to take advantage of our wireless Internet, desk top computers, numerous outlets and air conditioning! Residents stayed safe, cool and connected for work and school when most of the area was in the dark. Smiling staff readily provided a friendly home away from home for many local patrons! The parking lot was so full that the only available parking was in the street and at the Ted Spella Park next door! When the power goes out we sure see how dependent everyone is on electricity and the Internet for our day to day living!

We have been serving the residents of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills for over 90 years, with two convenient locations on the east and west sides of the Fox River. We are open every day to enhance the quality of your life through public computing access and over 280,000 books, movies, sound recordings, and video games to take home. If the power is on or off, find your library card and "don't leave home without it!"
